The £60m first phase of this project involves the development of a multi-purpose, landmark building called the Corby Cube Civic Hub, which will be a focal point for local information and services. The hi-tech civic hub will house a new library, a restaurant and a 445-seat theatre. In addition, the five-storey building will provide a one-stop shop for council services, outdoor cafe area and a rooftop garden.
Parkland Gateway is also the site of the new 50-metre, international-sized pool. The Corby East Midlands International Pool is a state-of-the-art facility designed by S&P, a leading team of architects and opened in 2009.
The new £18m pool is part of a major complex providing access to learner and leisure pools, a gym and dance studio, a cafe and crèche and a health suite.
