Corby is one of the few places in the UK with an Olympic-sized swimming pool.
The brand new, Corby East Midlands International Pool is a 50 metre Olympic training venue. This regional and national asset is a striking design, drawn up by S&P Architects; the firm responsible for the Manchester and Dublin Aquatic Centres.
In the build-up to the 2012 Olympics, the pool will provide a huge opportunity to promote Corby as the training centre of choice for smaller Olympic nations. More importantly, it encourages higher levels of resident and local participation and improved health awareness for everyone in Corby.
It has recently welcomed its 100,000 visitor since its opening in July 2009.
Corby Amateur Swimming Club
The club has more than 100 members and is based at the pool, with its teaching pool, splash pool and water chute.
