Corby isn’t “near” the countryside – it is “in” the countryside.

Just a few minutes walk from the town centre, you’ll find yourself in dense woodland with views across the Welland Valley and our beautiful Northamptonshire countryside.

Around Corby, thatched cottages, country pubs and local markets create a relaxed environment where the emphasis is on a high quality way of life.

East Carlton Country Park offers a variety of walks through mature woods and grassland, with a heritage centre, playground and craft workshops.

Corby’s Boating Lake has been described by The Angling Times as the best value day-ticket in the country, with a wide range of fish, large and small. There are boats for hire, a cafe and the opportunity to relax or stroll amongst the wildlife.

A few miles down the road is Rockingham Forest, an area of 200 square miles first designated a Royal Hunting Forest by William the Conqueror. In Tudor times, the area was a favourite with Elizabeth I who once fell from her horse and was rescued by Corby villagers.
